The New York Bodhi Meditation Center recently held a lively celebration to observe the annual Mid-Autumn Festival! Attendees enjoyed a special Mid-Autumn Festival Blessing from Grandmaster JinBodhi, sharing of stories from disciples, chanting led by Teacher Guan Shan and delightful performances. The celebration concluded with a delicious lunch prepared by the Center’s dedicated Food and Beverage volunteers. Everyone appreciated the observation of governmental regulations relating to the pandemic and agreed that it did not dim the enjoyment of the festivities. It was great to be together at the Center again!

Grandmaster JinBodhi’s “About Mid-Autumn”
Grandmaster wished everyone auspiciousness, successful completion, tolerance, and perfection during this Mid-Autumn Festival. Grandmaster wished that the troubles from the past will be eliminated, so that all may obtain perfection like a bright moon, and that all families will be happy. In this harvest season, Grandmaster wished that the poor will gain wealth, and students will develop wisdom to receive a perfect score on their exams.
The event also included sharing from several disciples.
Kun Xing sincerely shared how Bodhi Meditation has benefited her and her family’s body, mind, and spirit. Listening to her sharing, the guests present could also feel the compassionate energy of her sincere prayer for Grandmaster’s blessings.

Kun Tuo shared about how she left a message on Grandmaster’s live Facebook session, and received Grandmaster’s great auspicious blessing. This is a classic example of how one person’s cultivation can benefit the whole family, and enable wishes to come true.

Rong Ning shared with gratitude about making a wisdom light offering to Manjushri Bodhisattva for her son during the Buddha Bathing Festival, which led to her son overcoming obstacles, and allowed her to see light in the dark.

Teacher Guan Shan shared that the most important thing in life is “health and happiness.” It is easy to say, but not easy to obtain. Often we lose happiness in the process of calculating gains and losses. In the “Understanding Life” chanting class, Grandmaster taught us to think about our physical body over a longer span of time, and visualize that our body is wide like the Universe. The mindfulness and attitude of learning is the beginning of the foundation of cultivation. It is very important to plant the seeds of kindness in our hearts.

Under the guidance of Teacher Guan Shan, everyone relaxed and visualized being one with the Universe, receiving the blessing and care from Nature. All chanted with respect and praise, and received auspicious blessings from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

There were also performances from many talented practitioners. To lead the entertainment, four sisters performed the sign language version of “Devotion of Love,” showing the spirit of the volunteers’ dedication to the Center.

The song “Meeting in Ao Bao,” sung by the artist Lai Lun, was enjoyed by all. A joyful folk dance brought happiness and relaxation, winning warm applause from the audience.

The lucky draw brought the event to greater heights.

The guests exercised together, doing “Energy Bagua Aerobics.” Following the guidance of the Grandmaster, everyone felt happy and full of energy.

To conclude, Kun Cu led everyone to sing the song “The Moon Represents My Heart,” expressing the gratitude and respect of the practitioners to Grandmaster. The Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration was filled with Dharma joy and ended successfully with auspicious blessings. Many thanks to all the dedicated staff and volunteers who made this event possible. Gratitude to Grandmaster for his compassionate meditations, teachings and blessings!
