On May 21st, New York Bodhi Meditation Center offered another auspicious day of celebration for the birth of the Buddha.

Some guests who attended the previous week’s Blessing Ceremony participated again this week, purifying their body and mind, and immersing themselves in Buddha’s radiance. Those who missed last week’s Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony were very grateful to the Center to have another opportunity to receive blessings and enlightenment.

During this event, the Center also specially prepared “Ritual Hand Washing in the Golden Basin.” Sincerely making wishes in front of the Buddha, we prayed for the blessings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, seeking the courage and strength to overcome bad habits and to make our lives smoother and happier.

We are grateful to Grandmaster for bestowing the ancient Buddha stupa upon New York Center. With a heart of gratitude, everyone circumambulated the Buddha stupa, grateful for the Buddha’s teachings that bring liberation to the world from afflictions and suffering. We sincerely repented for the harm we have caused to sentient beings and the mistakes we have made, and we vowed to become compassionate and kind people who help others.

Guests who offered flowers happily placed them in front of the Buddha, offering the best of the best. May our entire family experience fulfillment and happiness.

During the blessing ceremony, we attentively listened to the compassionate teachings of Grandmaster JinBodhi on how to let go of afflictions and attain purity and freedom in body and mind. To ensure the success of our children, we must nurture them from an early age and nourish their body and mind with the compassion of the Buddha’s teachings, hoping that they can grow up healthily.

We sincerely chanted and prayed for our descendants and loved ones, wishing for the illumination of Buddha’s light, bringing brightness and health to everyone’s body and mind, and bestowing auspiciousness and fulfillment.

Teacher Guan Shan, the Center Director, performed purified water blessings for everyone.
After the completion of the event, the teachers also provided assistance in deciphering the divination lots for those who required guidance.

Everyone happily took the flowers offered to the Buddha back home, hoping to continue the beauty and prosperity, and wishing wealth and auspiciousness for the entire family. Gratitude to Grandmaster for this second chance to worship the Buddha together and receive blessings.
