Hello, my name is Huarong Wu. In May this year, my 81-year-old mother in China suddenly became ill. When she was brought to the hospital, she was in critical condition and had already lost the ability to eat on her own, speak, and sometimes was not able to recognize people around her, even my brothers.
After spending a week in the hospital and going through various tests, including CT scan and MRI, etc., the doctor finally diagnosed geriatric brain atrophy and acute cerebral infarction in the right side of her brain. Although the diagnosis was confirmed, the situation was not optimistic. The doctor did not have any viable treatment plans and told us not to expect too much for her recovery. He suggested my mother to be cared for at home and to recuperate gradually given her diagnosis.
The doctor prescribed medication to clear the blockages in the blood vessels and stated that he was not sure if the medication would be effective. My sister decided not to let my mother take the medication when she returned home. She cared for her with an appropriate diet and physical therapy instead, as well as acupuncture, massage, and some health supplements.
Due to the epidemic and the fact that I live in New York, one of the hardest affected areas, it was impossible for me to return to China to care for my mother. I was so anxious that I was not able to sleep at night and was so heartbroken. The situation left me with no other options; I instantly thought of making a light offering for my mother at our New York Bodhi Meditation Center and prayed to Master for blessings. In the meantime, I practiced prostration and chanted for blessings every day. Then, the miracle truly happened to Mom!
At the beginning of the first week home, my mother was miraculously able to stand up, eat on her own, and manage her own bathroom trips. By the second week, she was able to take a few steps by holding on to the wall or with a family members’ help. By the third week, she was able to exercise on her own and climb two or three flights of stairs by holding the handrail. By the fourth week, Mom was able to walk on her own independently!
When my mother went back to the hospital for a follow-up visit, the doctors were amazed by her incredible recovery! I am really grateful for the miracle that happened to my mother by my light offering at our Bodhi Meditation Center. Gratitude to Grandmaster for his blessings for my mother!
