Early this year, my daughter suspected she might have caught the COVID-19 virus from her colleague. We all panicked and were anxious. We asked her to get tested. The result came back and it was positive. We were very worried as our whole family, young and old, all live together. Her family lives upstairs and our family downstairs. She and her family members were together all the time. Her family lived, ate and used everything together. And she came down to visit us daily too. Her elder daughter, my little granddaughter, also came to my place to play daily. Sometimes it was after her meal. Sometimes she even ate with us. We had close interactions. When we heard her voice during the phone call, telling us the result was positive, our hearts sank. What’s going to happen to our entire family? My mother is already 92 years old. What if something happened to her? The consequences could be disastrous. Her mother-in-law and her husband immediately went to get tested, too. Fortunately, the results were negative. For my mother and myself, as we did not have any symptoms, we did not go to be checked.
My grandson, her youngest son, was taken care of frequently by his nanny as he was attending class online. The nanny has two undergraduates at home and could better help her son with homework. So he went to the nanny’s place daily. The nanny and her husband tested positive, also. Our family of eight, with my mother at 92 years old, and my grandson at only 10, all of us escaped the calamity. I am really very grateful. I cannot imagine the consequences if anything were to happen. It could be disastrous.
Looking back, I am very emotional. I was lucky. I responded to Grandmaster’s invitation for us to sponsor the production of the Guru Rinpoche’s Heart Mantra. I made the sponsorship for the whole family, for my mother, my daughter’s family, and my family. I am also very grateful to Grandmaster, as I clearly felt the power of Grandmaster’s words when Grandmaster said that the sponsorship would help ward off calamities. It is really true. I am grateful to Grandmaster. Thank you.
